Revelation 1: 1-8 nkjv

Welcome to Nambucca Baptist Church for our morning service with communion this Sunday 20th June 2021. A bit of a chilly start to the morning but it was warm inside and the presence of God was sensed throughout the meeting. The theme of today’s meeting was on the revelation of Jesus as we started our new sermon series on the book of Revelation.

Probably one of the most abused and misused books in the entire bible, Revelation has become a bit of a no-go area for many Christians. This should not be so as John writes that this revelation of Jesus is meant to be a blessing to the church. In our message this morning I spent a bit of time explaining the various genres of the Bible and the many places where this type of apocalyptic imagery is used in the Old Testament, and also significant non-canonical intertestamental books that would have been familiar to the writers of the New Testament including John.

Please join with our church family as we worship and learn and share in Holy Communion. In this way, you can be a part of our church family wherever you are.

This is where we would normally take up a collection but as you can see we can’t pass an offering bag around online. We have, however, provided a secure online giving facility for you. You can either use the Tithe.ly app on your smartphone or just click on the green button on the screen. We have been blessed by the way so many of you have managed to continue to give in various ways so that we can continue with the work of the Lord here in our church and beyond our walls.

That was inciteful Peter, Thankyou. it’s amazing what you learn when you focus on Jesus’s message without the additives that others put in there.
We had a message last week at Port Macquarie from Morling college about taking your Jesus straight without additives.
