John 8:12–19 (NKJV)
Welcome to Nambucca Baptist Church for our service this week. Today we will be continuing our series of the Seven I AM statements of Jesus and I’m sure you will have noticed that today I am preaching on I AM the Light of the World.
Yesterday we held a church family meeting to discuss the resumption of services in the church. The meeting decided that we would be having a combined morning and evening church congregations’ Celebration Service next Sunday at 10.00 AM.
During the week we measured our buildings in compliance with the latest Covid Safe requirements. The result was that we can have 31 people plus leadership in the church building and 42 people plus leadership in the Manse. There is some leeway in this and we would expect to seat everyone safely for this meeting.
The meeting also decided to support the work of Compassion as our mission focus and to this end, we will be donating to their current ‘We Rise as One‘ campaign to provide support for children in developing nations who are adversely affected by the Covid virus.
As usual, we have our welcome to church from Meryl who also leads us in prayer. The bible reading this week is by Anne, reading John 8: 12-19 NKJV.
This is where we would normally take up a collection but as you can see we can’t pass an offering bag around online. We have, however, provided a secure online giving facility for you. You can either use the Tithe.ly app on your smartphone or just click on the green button on the screen. We have been blessed by the way so many of you have managed to continue to give in various ways so that we can continue with the work of the Lord here in our church and beyond our walls.
Thank you for staying with us right through the service this week. Next week we will be recording hopefully in a Covid safe church with our church family with us for the first time since Easter. This means that the online service will be posted a day or so later as we will be recording on Sunday morning instead of Saturday. Here is a happy way to celebrate Jesus, the Light of the world. Enjoy
