John 10: 1-10 (nkjv)
Welcome to Nambucca baptist Church for this morning’s service 19th July 2020. Today is a very special day as we held a combined Morning and Evening Congregation Celebration service to mark our return to services in the church. It was a bit strange at first as we all realised the differences that the Covid Safe regulations are making to the way we conduct our services. I have set up this online service in the same order that we enjoyed it at church. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed preparing it for you. We have some beautiful music and of course Meryl to greet us and lead us in prayer. Thona shared with us on the effect of the Corona Virus in our community, and Fay did the bible reading from John 10: 1-10. I continue our sermon series on the Seven I AM statement of Jesus with today’s message I AM the Door.
This is where we would normally take up a collection but as you can see we can’t pass an offering bag around online. We have, however, provided a secure online giving facility for you. You can either use the Tithe.ly app on your smartphone or just click on the green button on the screen. We have been blessed by the way so many of you have managed to continue to give in various ways so that we can continue with the work of the Lord here in our church and beyond our walls.
Yes, we did Waymaker twice. The presence of God was so strong in the room that we just decided to keep it going. All in all a wonderful way to begin this new chapter in the life of our church. It was wonderful to be able to invite everyone down to the manse for a cuppa and some tasty snacks. Thanks to all those who provided them for us.
Meryl has been sharing a series of Bible Studies on desert experiences every Thursday morning for a few weeks now. Last week I mentioned that I had a very special spiritual experience at the desert springs of Ein Gedi. This is just a few hundred meters from the Dead Sea and yet the water does not reach the Dead Sea. These days they capture the pure water and bottle it. This is where David hid from Saul. It is mentioned in the Song of Solomon. This is a truly beautiful experience and I sensed the presence of God powerfully here. To show you Ein Gedi I have linked to another video from Sergio and Rhoda. I hope that this blesses you.
