Psalms Week 2

Psalm 13: 1-6, NKJV

Welcome to the Nambucca Baptist Church website for our worship and Holy Communion service for Sunday 19th September 2021. It has been a beautiful and warm sunny day here and we were excited to be able to meet together for a face to face service this morning.

Today we continue with the second in our new sermon series based on the Psalms. Psalm 13 is one of the lamentation Psalms and as such it is great for those times when we feel as though everyone is against us and we cannot hear from God. It’s like the heavens are welded shut over us. Psalm 13 shows us how to acknowledge our circumstances and remember how God has been good to us in the past. We know that no matter what is happening to us, that we can trust in his unfailing love.

We understand that you may not be able to attend your church today, so please join with our church family as we worship, and also as we gather around the Lord’s table. I’m sure that you will be as blessed as we are to bring it to you.

This is where we would normally take up a collection but as you can see we can’t pass an offering bag around online. We have, however, provided a secure online giving facility for you. You can either use the Tithe.ly app on your smartphone or just click on the green button on the screen. We have been blessed by the way so many of you have managed to continue to give in various ways so that we can continue with the work of the Lord here in our church and beyond our walls.

All of the Psalms were meant to be sung. As you watch this clip of Psalm 13, you may get a sense of the emotion that singing can add the the words of text.

This Psalm was so beautiful that I played it again

The message was carried over into the Holy Communion introduction
