Psalms Week 5
Psalms 62 (NKJV)
Welcome to Nambucca Baptist Church for our service 10th October 2021. It was a wonderful warm Spring morning and there was a lot of joy in the room as we gathered to worship. We have a great service for you today and we invite you to join with our church family as we worship and praise God together.
We are now in week five of our series on Psalms and today we are looking at a ‘trust’ psalm, psalm 62. The psalm begins and ends with faith statements followed by a rather pessimistic couple of verses. The whole psalm climaxes in the centre 4 verses
5 My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.
8 Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us.
You can see that in David’s Psalms he has a very personal approach in his relationship with God. There is nothing impersonal about how David approached God. Nothing impersonal at all. Very intimate. Very real, you know very down-to-earth.
I want to be that way with God don’t you?
This is where we would normally take up a collection but as you can see we can’t pass an offering bag around online. We have, however, provided a secure online giving facility for you. You can either use the Tithe.ly app on your smartphone or just click on the green button on the screen. We have been blessed by the way so many of you have managed to continue to give in various ways so that we can continue with the work of the Lord here in our church and beyond our walls.
