Psalms Week 9
Psalm 119:89-96 NKJV
Welcome to Nambucca Baptist Church for our Worship and Communion Service this Sunday 7th November 2021. It was a fine Spring morning and we had a good number of our church family present in the church. There was a sense of joy and the presence of God as the service got under way. Please feel free to prepare the elements for Holy Communion wherever you may be joining with us today.
Today we concluded our series of messages on the Psalms with a stanza of Psalm 119. This Psalm is remarkable as it recommends total reliance and obedience to the living word of God. As verse 11 so beautifully puts it,
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
We see from the very first verse of our reading that God’s word is forever settled in heaven. We know that the fulfillment of that word came in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ as John describes him in his gospel chapter one and verse 14.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Friends, God is on the throne; He holds the world in His hands; His promises can never fail; so, let’s get moving.
This is where we would normally take up a collection but as you can see we can’t pass an offering bag around online. We have, however, provided a secure online giving facility for you. You can either use the Tithe.ly app on your smartphone or just click on the green button on the screen. We have been blessed by the way so many of you have managed to continue to give in various ways so that we can continue with the work of the Lord here in our church and beyond our walls.
