A New Normal – Week 3

Exodus 15:22-25, Exodus 16:1-5, Exodus 17:1-7

Welcome to Nambucca Baptist Church for our service this Sunday 6th September 2020. In Australia, today is Father’s Day and we extend a warm greeting and blessing to all our fathers out there and trust that you have a great day and are truly spoiled by your families today. Our service today includes Communion and we encourage you at home to prepare the elements for yourselves so that no matter where you are you can celebrate communion with us today.

We continue with the series on A New Normal, this week marks the third week in the series and the title of the message is A New Way To Pray. The message is based on three incidents in Exodus chapters 15 – 17 that demonstrate a marked deterioration in the way the Children of Israel treated God. In the personal application, I suggest a much better way to share your negative emotions and feelings with God. One that results in trust and faith as we recognize that no matter how bad things are getting for you, God is faithful and He will never leave you to fight your battles alone.

As always we are welcomed to church by Meryl who also leads us in prayer. Thona reads this morning’s readings for us. This week they are quite long. Exodus 15:22-25, Exodus 16:1-5, Exodus 17:1-7. You can look them up and follow along with her. Thona was reading from the NIV version this morning. Please settle in and enjoy the service with us, we had a wonderful time and we are so happy to be able to share it with you.

This is where we would normally take up a collection but as you can see we can’t pass an offering bag around online. We have, however, provided a secure online giving facility for you. You can either use the Tithe.ly app on your smartphone or just click on the green button on the screen. We have been blessed by the way so many of you have managed to continue to give in various ways so that we can continue with the work of the Lord here in our church and beyond our walls.

Thank you for staying with us for the whole service, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. I have a special video clip for you fresh from the City of David in Jerusalem just two days ago they made a discovery that confirmed the existence of the Davidic culture back in the time between the Assyrian invasion and the sack of Jerusalem by the Babylonians.

Blessings.
